Our Cheeks are Nice & Rosy and Comfy Cozy are We...

Sophie is very excited to be wearing her beautiful coat from Uncle Neil & Aunt Rebecca! We supposedly had our first freeze last night, so I had to pull out the girls winter coats. Here's Kate looking all chic in her winter coat with matching hat.
Pretty in pink & ready for the first snow storm...

A Horse Show & A Drive Through

On Sunday, we got to go to an equestrian center where there was a horse jumping competition going on. Sophie loved watching and waving to the horses. (Note the cool striped leg warmers.)
We big girls got to see lots of horses close up as they ran by. (Note I have cute leg warmers too!)
Then, Sophie joined us for a while, but Mommy picked her up after Sophie started eating dirt.
The whole gang (minus Daddy) enjoying the mountain air.
Back at Bonclarken, the playground was a big hit. Especially the house that we pretended was a drive through restaurant. We served whatever you asked for. This looks like a milk shake.

Picking Apples & Tickling the Ivories

We went to the mountains this weekend to celebrate Daddy's 30th birthday - which is actually next Sunday. Our first stop was the Sky Top Apple Orchard in Flat Rock. I got to pick apples straight off the tree.
Here you can see Daddy carrying Sophie & Daniel carrying Joy. I am in the middle eating an apple.
Second apple. (Note - I eat apples just like Grandma & Aunt Christine.)
We stayed at Carroll Cottage in Bonclarken which is our church's cabin. It was great fun - especially the piano. We girls liked to hammer away at it as often as possible.
Here we are posing for Mommy.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

Since we are members at the botanical gardens, it is a great way to spend a free afternoon. Here the girls pose in front of one of my favorite autumn/winter plants.
Kate's favorite thing about the gardens is the fountain that you run through. She always ends up sopping wet.
This of course gives Sophie time to think about how unfair it is that she can't crawl through the fountain, but is stuck in the stroller.
Kate understands. She's been there, too. So, she likes to make Sophie happy by giving her a wet kiss.

How Sophie Spends Her Time

First of all, I LOVE to read! This is a book that Mommy's cousin Esther gave to Kate. It is so fun because 1. it has nice soft spots to touch and 2. it is in DUTCH! How cool is that??
Also, I LOVE people! Especially family people. Mommy wants me to remind you that I do not love the people in church nursery so much on Sunday mornings. But... I am a very social girl as long as I am safely in Mommy or Daddy's arms. Or on Daddy's shoulders.

Flannel & A Fireplace

It was so cold, Mommy bought Sophie & me new flannel pajamas. And...we put on a fire!!! If I bend my knees just right, Sophie & I are the same height.
Pondering life in a quiet moment...

Climb Every Mountain

Daddy had to go up to the mountains to work today, so we girls tagged along. Mommy has family in Boone & we had lots of fun with them. Here we all are with Mommy's cousin Joe. He is a police officer & therefore is very cool.
Here I am with Kees.  We didn't fight too much over this car.
This is an older picture from home.  Daddy found this stool for us & we had lots of fun playing with it.
