Downtown Knoxville & A Train

Here is where the 1982 World's Fair was. We got to go up in the Sunsphere (behind us) so we could look out over Knoxville.
We went on a train called the 3 Rivers Rambler. We had a fun time.
Uncle Daniel & Mommy were just sitting & talking. A little boring for an adventurer like me. So, here I go! Off to explore!
Here is the kind of thing that can be found while exploring. A big cuddly friend!!! We had lots of fun together.
Here is a shot of the 3 of us with a pretty view in the background.

My First Trip to the Zoo

We went to Knoxville, TN to visit Uncle Daniel. While there, I got to go to the zoo for the first time. (Charlotte doesn't have one.) Daddy played a mean trick on me and got me in a cage! As you can tell, I didn't mind too terribly much.
Wow! Look here! A goat. Daddy said I could pet him.
Here I am after gaining a little confidence and giving his nose a good rub.

A New Toy for Daddy

Daddy bought a new toy for himself and Mommy. Here I am sitting on our old computer. Mommy says to mention it was a piece of junk. That nice sleek machine in front of me is the new one! I am just sitting here watching Daddy while learning about technology and being a moral support.

Relaxing & Re-Organizing

Who doesn't like to pass the evening in a rocking chair? Here I am with Daddy in front of the Cracker Barrel.
Sucker! Daddy distracted Mommy, so I could make a secret move. Mommy's way of organizing these videos is so archaic. I think I am going to add some Kate flair to this system.
That's better. Winnie the Pooh, anyone??

Whitewater Center

Today, we got to go to the US National Whitewater Center - right here in Charlotte, NC!! They have all kinds of things to do.

Like here - you can see me rock climbing. I am a real dare-devil. They also have whitewater rafting. Here Daddy & I are watching them go down the river. I wanted to jump in with them, but Daddy is such a stick-in-the-mud. He wouldn't let me.
AND - of course the best part - food!! Here you can see me finishing off the juice from my fruit bowl. (I had two!) The best thing was Mommy & I got to eat for free!!! You can't beat that! Daddy says I should add the reason we ate for free was because our meal took so long. The reason it took so long was they dropped Mommy's hamburger on the floor and had to make her a new one.

Summer Vacations

Every good vacation needs two things... First - recreation. Here I am at one of my favorite places. The park!!
Second - perhaps more importantly - good food! (Extra points for things with lots of sugar.) Here I am "sharing" some gelato with Uncle Phil.

A Party Trip to Houston

We went to Houston to celebrate Opa's 60th Birthday!! While we were there, we got to eat all kinds of fun treats! Oom Gert & Tante Nel brought lots of candy from Holland. Here I am with Uncle Neil sharing a licorice shoelace.
Daddy did a lot of reading in Houston. Here I am trying to distract him a little.
We got to go on a little walk around a lake. Here Opa is dangling my feet in the water. That was so fun!! I got some seaweed (lakeweed??) on them, though.
Opa & Grandma also took us to the Houston Aquarium. I loved the fish. You can see me here pointing to a favorite.

Here is the whole gang who celebrate the birthday together. Daddy, Mommy, & Me. Uncle Phil & Aunt Christine. Uncle Neil (We missed Aunt Rebecca a lot because she had to work.) Opa & Grandma. And...all the way from Holland...Oom Gert & Tante Nel.

In Jackson with the Bomgaars

We just got back from a trip to visit Jackson! While we were there, I got to play with Grandma a lot. Here I am outside while she is taking a picture of me.
While we were there, we got to go to the Reservoir. Daddy, Mommy & the big people got to go jet-skiing. But, a highlight for me was a dip in the water. Here I am with Daddy, Matthias, & Charlotte.
Here are the Jackson (& Belmont) Bomgaars. Daddy, Mommy, & me. Uncle Thomas & Aunt Christina. Grandma. Uncle Joel, Aunt Rachel, & my new cousin - Amelia.

Hmmm... Art?

Yesterday, Daddy, Mommy, & I went to the art museum in Charlotte. Daddy couldn't figure out why I was in such a hurry to get out, but maybe this picture explains a lot. ... "What exactly is it trying to say??" Anyway, it ended up being all worthwhile, because we got lemonade & cookies on the way out!
