Halloween!

TRUNK OR TREAT!
and..."TRICK OR TREAT!" Here we are at Daddy's co-worker's house. You can tell Sophie is so comfortable with Miss Kim that she just walked right on in!

Last Houston Shots...

So, the rule is: when Opa has family in from Holland, all the Roosmas make an appearance. This time it was his brother (Oom Gert) with wife (Tante Nel). We tried not to disappoint. Aunt Rebecca & Daddy didn't make it, but the rest of us co-ordinated our schedules to say "howdy."Uncle Neil, Aunt Christine, Mommy!Waiting patiently for my turn in front of the camera.Sophie - always eager to be a ham.New Target outfits - dresses from Grandma; tights from Mommy.
Enough pictures...time to play.

Rocket Scientists

I'm glad these guys are good at science, because spelling is not their thing...

Water Fun

A quick test to see the water temperature.Sophie is a bit more tentative, but Kate jumps right into the line of fire.Sophie watches - a bit unsure. She is not so sure it is a good idea to get as wet as her sister in late October.

A Trip to Texas

We are so excited to be in Texas with Opa & Grandma!!Also...Oom Gert & Tante Nel are here from Holland. And...Aunt Christine & Uncle Phil are here from Dallas. AND...Uncle Neil comes tomorrow from Delaware! It's a shame that Daddy & Aunt Rebecca can't be here.Grandma thinks it is very important to eat healthy foods, so...here we are eating some frozen yoghurt. Delicious!

A Day at the Farm

We had a church picnic on Saturday at a farm! It was so much fun. There were many things to do...hot dogs, a hayride, a corn maze, pumpkin patch, slides, hay bales to play on, & a bonfire. Oh yeah - I also rode a horse! Don't I look pro?
Daddy & Sophie take a turn.

Hanging out with Mommy

Look how excited we are to be in our cute winter coats!! It's gotten cold, so I've started wearing my cute coat with matching hat from Uncle Neil & Aunt Rebecca. (There's a matching dress, too. Can you imagine my excitement about that one???!!!) Sophie is wearing my hand me down coat from last year. Cute, too, of course. This weekend was the 10th anniversary of the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. It is one of our favorite places to go with Mommy for a cozy morning. (And often a picnic!) Sophie was a little distracted in this picture by a man using a leaf-blower, but you can see that I know how to pose for a picture.Show off! Here we both are - looking at the camera & everything!!

Out to Dinner

I love going places with Daddy. He is the best. One thing that is fun is he likes to take artistic pictures. Mommy is excited because he finally bought a fancy camera with some money from Moesa! (Pictures will be coming shortly from that camera.) Here are some on our everyday camera from when we went out to eat recently.Kate thinks the important thing is to goof off when Daddy takes pictures. I know what you are supposed to do - look cute.
Again - you can see I'm no amateur. I have my face fully visible to my adoring public (and my adoring Daddy). Kate is a little more shy than I am, I guess.

Baa Moo Farm

We recently got to go on a very special trip to the Baa Moo Farm. When we first got there, we went to see a miniature donkey. Then, we went for a ride on a wagon pulled by a tractor. The animals we saw on this ride made me a little nervous. Mommy said if I grew up in Texas like she did, we'd see a whole lot more of them. Then we went to see the little baby cows. These ones were only about a week old. We all go to take turns giving them milk since their mommies aren't around to feed them.Sophie is pretty brave because she kept feeding her cow even though he tried to bump her a little. You might be able to catch the look of concern on her face.Next we saw some sheep that we were also allowed to feed. Mommy said it was impossible to get a picture of us because apparently we were not supposed to throw the bread as far away from ourselves as possible (keeping us in safety), we were supposed to hand the bread directly into their (dangerous) mouths. Anyway...next came the hen house. We all picked a fresh egg to give to the lady in her basket. Next, we got to throw them corn for their food. After that, came the barn. We all were offered a turn to milk the cow. Daddy thought since his daughters didn't take the lady up on her offer, he would jump in himself. The end of our day...a little souvenir pumpkin. Mommy was very amused because (as with the eggs) Sophie & I thought - since pumpkins & eggs are food - we could just pop them right into our mouths.
