Big News From Sophie
They only gave Kate a piece of cake; I had to chew on the placemat. (To be honest, they did also give me my first cheerio. But, I still say it is no comparison to a piece of cake.)
Afterwards, Mommy wanted to take us outside to get some pictures of us girls in our new dresses. Kate's comes from Aunt Rebecca. It is a very cool Holland dress. My dress comes all the way from Holland - the Hema, even. It is from my Moesa!

Delaware, Part III
I'm not sure what number this is, I've lost count, but here is another picture of Daddy & bad parenting.
For those of you who might be concerned, Uncle Neil & Sophie did make up.
I got a little bored on the way home and gave myself a tattoo. I think it's lovely!!
And, after the end of a long trip, Sophie getting some much needed rest.
Our Wild Saturday Night
After our Saturday naps, Uncle Neil & Aunt Rebecca took us to the IKEA in Philadelphia. I had lots of fun. I played in the plastic ball pit.
And, I had enough time to put some tired dogs down for the night. I even took the time to pray with them and sing "Jesus Loves Me."
After IKEA, we went to a restaurant called, "The Famous Fourth Street Deli." Here I am sharing some food with Uncle Neil.
Here is Uncle Neil's dinner!! He did share it with Aunt Rebecca.
And, the best part...DESSERTS! It is hard to see from this picture, but these are the biggest desserts I've ever seen! I know that might not mean a lot since I am only 2, but trust me - this is THE place to come for dessert, but only if you are very very very hungry.
A Surprise Weekend in Delaware
Here you can see Daddy putting me in the cold waters of the Brandywine. On Saturday we toured Hagley which was a Dupont estate. They used to make gunpowder here.

A Fun Saturday
One of my favorite things to do is laugh. Mommy & Daddy love doing silly things so I laugh for them.
I call this video: "Monkey See, Monkey Do."
Today we went to a place called JAARS. We got to meet lots of missionaries. We also saw a plane doing tricks in the air. And, I got to go in a big truck! It was lots of fun. Since missionaries are so international, I thought I'd wear my Dutch shirt and my cute little woodenshoes slippers.

Our Weekend, Part II
On Friday, we went to a very cool place called "Old Salem." It was founded by Moravians, who are famous for their cookies and love feasts. We had a whole lot of fun there. Here you see me talking to an old timey person on the telephone. He is telling me something interesting.
So, I thought I'd tell him a little something interesting about me, too. I think he liked that. :)
Mommy's been talking about buying a new bed for me. So, we tried one out in a place called the tavern. Someone named George Washington even slept in this building. I told her it was nice that it was roomy enough for me & Sophie, but a little uncomfortable. (On Saturday, Daddy & Mommy DID buy me a bed. I love it!!!)
Before people had kitchen sinks, they got their water from these contraptions. Very interesting. And, very wet - which is a very fun thing!!!
Here I am taking a break from all the action. Just holding my water and enjoying life. It was a nice day for that.
For anyone who is interested in the latest Sophie news: she got her first tooth on Saturday!! And, she got to eat cereal for the first time. I even helped feed her a little. She seemed to like it.
Our Weekend, Part I
Daddy took off Friday this week, so we got to have a loooong weekend. We had so much fun. First, I got to do one of the things I love best, sitting (with a beverage, of course) and gazing out the window. Since we now have neighbors across the street, this is a lot more interesting. I also especially love it when the garbage truck comes on Fridays.

Kate's New Bike
I love my new bike that I got on a garge sale Saturday.
But I've still got to learn my limits.

Bugs with Kate
I love insects. Catapillars are a little scary to me though but today was the first day I dared to touch one.

Then daddy challenged me and dared me to touch him with my nose. (I think they call this exposure therapy)

Sophie Reports on Mother Earth
Since Kate is a bit of a blog-hog, I took the opportunity to sit down one night when she went to bed early. Here is a recent shot of me for those who have forgotten how cute I am. Mommy says I need to learn the meaning of the word "modest." I think she's just jealous.
Today we went to South Carolina for an Earth Day Festival. Here is Kate & Daddy and Joy & Daniel walking through the creek. I guess I don't have to tell you that the mommies and the baby sisters were the smart ones who didn't walk through the water that was so cold that Daddy said it hurt his feet. I ask you!

I guess I don't have to tell you that the mommies and the baby sisters were the smart ones who didn't walk through the water that was so cold that Daddy said it hurt his feet. I ask you!Mommy says I should mention (so that Grandma doesn't get upset) there was actually no mention of "Mother Earth." There weren't any hippies, even. Just a few (well, a few dozen) rednecks. One man said to Mommy, "That sure is a fat lil young'un you got there." Now...that is not polite! I do have to admit that at my 4 month check-up, I was 17 pounds! Mommy says Kate was only 19 pounds at her 1 year check-up. But, I do so prefer the term: "pleasantly plump."
I am afraid I am a bit more verbose than my sister, but I don't get the chance too often. Talk to you soon! Love, Sophie
TRUCKS!!!
While Grandma was here, we had something very exciting happening next door: tree removal. I loved to sit at the window and watch, but Grandma had a better idea...
Maybe you can see it better in this picture! Mommy even brought us a picnic under the tree!

Sophie's Baptism
Here I am with Grandma! I am very excited about it!!! You can also see Uncle Neil & Aunt Rebecca in the back. They all love me so much they came all the way from Texas & Delaware to see me!
Today, we stood in the front of the whole church, and I got baptized. Kate got to come up with me, too. The baptism gown I had on was also worn by Kate, Mommy, Aunt Christine, and Uncle Neil. I think that's very special. (Although I can't imaging Mommy being this small.)
Kate's Birthday Party
I am almost 2!! Grandma, Uncle Neil, & Aunt Rebecca came to visit for my birthday and for Sophie's baptism.
Here you see Uncle Neil & Aunt Rebecca who drove all the way from Delaware to come see us! They are lots of fun.
You can probably tell from this picture that I am a funny girl. I am READY for one of those cupcakes...if only someone would set down the camera and give me one (or two or three).
Don't I look beautiful? I got a tiara from a real live beauty queen!! Exciting, huh?
This is my present from Uncle Neil & Aunt Rebecca - Noah's ark!!

The Columbia, SC Zoo
Today, we went all the way to Columbia to go to the zoo. It was about as much fun as a girl could have in one day. We went with Mommy's cousin, Heather, and her 2 girls, Casey & Emma.
One highlight of the day was being this close to a rabbit. I LOVE rabbits!
